Media Arts Scholarship Program – Deadline passed

Mr. Ryan is offering a $350 scholarship to any student interested in pursuing further education.  Preference will be given to those studying in the fields of Media Arts or Communications, but all are welcome to apply.  Any Crestline student(s) who are planning to attend college are welcome to apply.  Applicants must have a record of volunteerism in the community in non-school sponsored activities and participation in extracurricular activities, a minimum 3.0 GPA and plan to attend a 2 or 4-year college or technical school.  Application packages are available from Mrs. Miller in the Guidance Office at CHS.  Deadline for application is April 13, 2018.

The Community Foundation For Crawford County – Deadline passed

The CF4CC currently offers 27 different scholarships.  The majority of the scholarships are for graduating seniors of one of the Crawford County, Ohio schools.  Interested applicants should review the scholarship requirements for each of the scholarships.  The application deadline for scholarships is March 2, 2018 at 5:00 PM.

The Crawford County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship – Deadline passed

The Crawford County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship was established in 2010 to help students with tuition costs as they further their education.  This scholarship is specifically designed to help a graduating male and female student from each of the six Crawford County High Schools as they pursue higher education plans. The application deadline for this scholarship is March 2, 2018 at 5:00 PM.

The Dr. Laurie Anne Rhodebeck Memorial Scholarship – Deadline passed

The Dr. Laurie Anne Rhodebeck Memorial Scholarship was established by the Friends of the Crawford Park District in memory of Dr. Laurie Anne Rhodebeck.  Applicants can be entering any level of their educational attainment, attending any college, university, technical or vocational school and entering any field of study.  Preference is given to those studying environmental sciences or other studies that correlate with the mission of the Crawford Park District and to those who can display community service activities.  One $1000 award will be awarded annually.  This scholarship is renewable. The Kevin A. Binau Scholarship – Deadline passed

The Binau Scholarship is named in honor of Kevin A. Binau, former President and CEO of Ohio Mutual Insurance Group.  Awarded annually to graduating seniors from any Crawford County High School, recipients are awarded $1,000 based upon high academic achievement, a commitment to community service, and exhibition of high personal character. The application deadline for this scholarship is March 2, 2018 at 5:00 PM.

The Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship – Deadline passed

The Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship has been established in honor of Dr. Donald Wenner and his wife, Margaret.  This scholarship was generously started by Dr. Wenner so that twenty $2,000 scholarships can be awarded annually to Crawford County high school graduating seniors who want to further their education.  Preference is given to those who display financial need.  This scholarship may be renewed. The application deadline for this scholarship is March 2, 2018 at 5:00 PM.

The Marvis Schaaf Scholarship – Deadline passed

The Schaaf Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Marvis Schaaf.  Marvis generously provided for this scholarship in her will, so $3,500 will be awarded to two graduates of any Crawford County, Ohio High School.  Recipients of this scholarship will be chosen based upon the student’s financial need and academic qualifications. The application deadline for this scholarship is March 2, 2018 at 5:00 PM.

The Merle & Peg Hutson Scholarship – Deadline passed

The Merle and Peg Hutson Scholarship Fund is named in memory of “Coach” Merle Hutson, beloved football coach and educator for many years at Crestline High School.  Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Preference will be given to applicants who can display examples of extracurricular activities, community service and leadership.  Finalists will be interviewed, and should have knowledge of Coach Hutson and his importance to Crestline High School.  The application deadline for this scholarship is March 2, 2018 at 5:00 PM.

The Richard A. Miller Scholarship – Deadline passed

This scholarship was established in honor of a vibrant young man who lost his battle to multiple sclerosis at the age of 29.  At CHS, Dick was extremely active in multiple extracurricular activities.  These included National Honor Society, plays and musicals, choir and Royal Blue Express, football, basketball, and tennis – all while being an A student.  He also sang in the United Methodist Church choir.  Dick graduated from Carnegie Mellon University where he played football and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  In 2005 he was inducted into the Crestline Athletic Hall of Fame.  The Crestline High School tennis courts are named in his memory.  The Richard A. Miller Scholarship was established by the 1982 class of Crestline High School following his death in 1994.  The application deadline for this scholarship is March 2, 2018 at 5:00 PM.

Avita Health Foundation Scholarship – Deadline passed

The candidate must be a graduating senior from a Crawford County high school who is accepted for attendance at an accredited degree-granting institution. The candidate must be seeking a degree toward licensure or certification in a health related field. Four scholarships will be awarded from $500 – $1000. The application deadline for this scholarship is April 6,2018.  Application packets are available from Mrs. Miller at CHS.

Galion Masonic Lodge No. 414 Scholarship – Deadline passed

The Galion Masonic Lodge No. 414 is offering multiple $1000 scholarships to members of the class of 2018 at Crestline and Galion High Schools.  Deadline for application is April 16, 2018. The application is available from Mrs. Miller in the Guidance Office at CHS.  The 8 required copies will be printed at CHS.

The Grand Lodge of Ohio Free and Accepted Masons – Deadline passed

The Grand Lodge of Ohio that serves Crawford County is offering two $1,200 scholarships – one to a male student and one to a female student.  Applications are due on March 1, 2018.  Applications are available from Mrs. Miller at CHS.

The Ohio Mutual Crawford Opportunity Award – Deadline passed

This award is a $1,500 college scholarship awarded to up to three individuals either living in or attending school in Crawford County whose chosen field of collegiate study aligns with emerging opportunities in the insurance industry. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, evidence of extracurricular leadership and an expressed interest in majoring in business administration, finance, accounting, computer science, marketing, actuarial science, or risk management/insurance.  Applications are available from Mrs. Miller at CHS. Deadline for application is April 2, 2018

Warpole Chapter #366 – Order of the Eastern Star – Deadline passed

This is a $250 scholarship that is offered to the 2018 graduating seniors of high schools serving Wyandot and Crawford Counties.  Deadline for application is April 1, 2018.  The application is available from Mrs. Miller at CHS.

Charles F. High Scholarship – Deadline passed

This trust grants scholarships of $500 per academic year for up to four years to worthy boys who are residents of Crawford County, Ohio and who are enrolled at the Ohio State University either at the Columbus campus or any of the branches as a full time student.  Applicants must address a letter of intent to attend OSU to The Charles F. High Foundation, John R. Clime – Administrator 1232 St. Rt. 4 South Bucyrus, OH 44820  The letter must be received by March 1, 2018.  Applications will be mailed.

Grace High Washburn Scholarship – Deadline passed

This trust grants scholarships of $500 per academic year for up to four years to worthy girls who are residents of Crawford County, Ohio and who are enrolled at The Ohio State University either at the Columbus campus or any of the branches as a full time student.  Applicants must address a letter of intent to attend OSU to The Grace High Washburn Trust, John R. VFW Scholarship – Deadline passed

Harley Helfrich Post #2929 and Auxiliary are offering two $1000 and one $500 scholarships to the Class of 2018 at CHS.  Applicants must rank in the top 30% of the class and are judged on grades and financial need.  Applications are available at CHS from Mrs. Miller in the Guidance Office.  The application deadline is April 28.

Gates Brown Scholarship – Deadline passed

The funds for the Gates Brown Scholarship have been given by the people and organizations of the Crestline community and friends of Gates Brown in his honor.  This scholarship will be awarded to one baseball and one softball athlete who exemplifies outstanding achievement in academics and in their respective sports.  Applications are available at CHS from Mrs. Miller in the Guidance Office.  The application deadline is May 4.

The Karen L. Bauer Bulldog Spirit Scholar-Athlete Award – Deadline passed

This is a yearly scholarship awarded to a graduating senior cheerleader at Crestline High School in honor of the late Karen L. Bauer, a former CHS cheerleader and cheerleader adviser.  The award is sponsored by her husband Jim, son Nick Reynolds and her parents Tom and Barb Clutter. The scholarship is for $200.  The award will be based on a combination of the student’s academics (minimum 2.75 GPA), character, leadership, school activities, community service and financial need.  The application is available from Mrs. Miller in the Guidance Office at CHS.  The application deadline is May 4.

Michelle Grace Gage Scholarship – Deadline passed

These scholarships are being given as part of a trust by the estate of Richard and Wilma Gage in memory of their daughter Michelle.  $10,000 in scholarships will be awarded to the Class of 2018 at CHS. Scholarship amounts may vary and are based on need.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and rank in the top 50% of the class.  This scholarship is not available to students who will receive the Tuition Freedom Scholarship from NCSC.  Applications are available from Mrs. Miller in the Guidance Office at CHS. The application deadline is May 4.

Crestline Education Association Application – Deadline passed

The Crestline Education Association CEA) will award one $500 and two $250 scholarships to members of the Class of 2018.  The funds for these scholarships are generated from Split The Pot at sporting events.  Applications are available from Mrs. Miller in the Guidance Office at CHS.  The application deadline is May 7.

Diedra Haar Art Scholarship – Deadline passed

This scholarship is given in memory of Ms. Diedra Haar, longtime art teacher at Crestline High School.  This is a $500 scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is planning a career in fine art or an art-related field (for example:  art education, architecture, graphic design, interior design, advertising art, etc.) or a student who has demonstrated an active interest in art.  Applications are available from Mrs. Miller in the Guidance Office at CHS.  The application deadline is May 7.
